Description
Now here is my list with my personal 10 favourite Paper Mario characters. This list is only about characters who exlusively appear in the Paper Mario series, so I won't add any main characters (such as Mario, Peach, Bowser or Luigi). Hope you like it.

10. Koopatrol: Regular enemies who debuted in Paper Mario. What I like about these Koopas is that they're kinda unique. I really like their design with their armor and unlike normal Koopas those enemies are strong, have a good defense and it's not easy to defeat them (unless you have equipped the Spike Shield or Quake Hammer Badges ).

9. Rawk Hawk: The champion of Glitz Pit in PMTTYD who claims to be undefeatable. At first he is extremely arrogant, egoistical and self-centered. He is even willing to cheat if necessary to win a battle. But after Mario defeated him in battle he shows a lot more respect to the plumber and he promises to fight fair from then on. Again, this character has a pretty unique design and he has one of the best Battle Themes in the entire game!

8. Koopa Bros.: They are the coolest of cool - that's what they claim. The Koopa Bros. (or how I sometimes call them, "The Bad Ninja Turtles"; I mean, it's more than obvious that those Koopas are a referrence to the heroic Turtles, right?) belong to the funniest characters in the Paper Mario series. For instance they show Bowser their special attack, but forget to guard the Star Spirit. Their prehistory is also interesting. Earlier they were just nice boys from Koopa Village, but soon they got bored of their life and decided to leave. And so they got influenced by Bowser and Kammy Koopa. All in all the Koopa Bros. think they are cool, but they're not that though. And again, I really love their Battle Theme.

7. Dimentio: The only Super Paper Mario character on this list. Master of dimensions... Pleaser of the crowd... It is... Dimentio! At the beginning he only seems to be one of Count Bleck's minions. But the further the story goes, the more obvious his plans become. At the end he reveals himself to be the true main villain by betraying his master and using the Chaos Heart to create his own perfect world. What I like about him is his mischievous behavior. No matter what, he always seems to be amused (unless he gets attacked and/or defeated). Even after Mario and company defeated him, he didn't lose his laugh. What a psychopath, but that suits him!

6. Vivian: The youngest member of the Shadow Sirens from PMTTYD. At the beginning Vivian was bullied very often by her older sisters (especially Beldam). When I played the game for the first time, I felt very bad for her and I kinda wished her to join Mario's party - which later REALLY happened! Vivian is a great partner, who can set most enemies on fire and protect Mario from enemy attacks. (And yes, I don't care if the Japanese version depicts her as a transgender. For me Vivian will always be female)

5. Lady Bow: The leader of the Boos of Boo's Mansion in Paper Mario. At first she only wanted Mario to solve the Tubba Blubba problem, but later she learned that there is more to do and she decides to join Mario until the end of his adventure. And yeah, I know that the Tubba Blubba problem came into existence because of her own (and the rest of the Boos) fault, but she learned from it and she made sure that she and the other Boos will never scare him again. However, her abilities are always fun to watch. Like Vivian she can protect Mario from attacks and the way she uses her (Fan)Smack kinda reminds me of Jigglypuff from the Pokemon Anime. I just love it!

4. Kooper: A young, adventure-loving Koopa from Koopa Village who wants to become an archaeologist. He admires the famous Professor Kolorado and he wants to be just like him. It's always a pleasure to see him happy and/or excited.   And he is usually one of the best choices for big enemy groups (but only for enemies on the ground).

3. Goombario and Goombella: Yeah, for this spot I had to cheat a bit, but I just cannot decide which Goomba partner I like more. While Goombella has more personality, Goombario has funnier quotes. For instance when he tattles a Goomba, he says: "Actually, they're pretty much the smallest fries. ...Hey, wait! I'm one of 'em!" Also his tattle infos appear to be more interesting. With one exception both characters share the same abilities, so I decided to add them both.

2. Admiral Bobbery: He has one of the saddest backstories in the series.   During an icy winter his wife Scarlette fell ill, while Bobbery was on a long journey on the sea and when he finally came home it was too late already. Blaming himself, Bobbery never wanted to sail again. But after meeting Mario and reading Scarlette's letter he decided to return to the sea (and later joining Mario's party). Bobbery belongs to the strongest party members, also having the most HP. This and his backstory makes me like him a lot.

1. Yoshi Kid: I guess it's not a big surprise that the Yoshi Kid is my Number 1, right? When I played the original Paper Mario, I always wished for a Yoshi as a party member. And that wish was granted in the sequel! While his story is pretty simple (when he was still an egg he was about to get eaten, but was saved by Mario), I absolutely love his moves. He can jump on enemies mulitple times, shrink them with his eggs or even call for a stampede. And for a Yoshi this kid is pretty cheeky. He definitely deserves the spot as my Number 1 favourite Paper Mario character!
