I now have “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze” since one week and I really like this game. Great level design (especially in World 3), awesome music, the underwater levels are back, Dixie Kong is playable again and Cranky Kong can now perform his TRUE skills. However there was one thing, I didn’t like. While the underwater levels reappeared, Enguarde the swordfish didn’t. But why? I really wanted to see him in this game and I’m sure, I’m not the only one, who thinks so. So this gave me the inspiration for this pic. What do you think about Enguardes absence in “DKCTF”?

i think there are these 2 reasons:
1. the water is too cold
2. he might of passed away and you didnt know

I did give him quite an attention lately. He's been like the secondary character of my fan fic and very useful in many places.

Cute swordfish, and what I imagined to be one of Diddy Kong's best buddies for a very long time.

Yeah, Enguarde should have been in this game...PERIOD.


Underwater levels came back, and so should Enguarde. 


Now that the Kongs can attack underwater, and Cranky can swing his cane...I guess they saw no use for Enguarde. Still though...


Enguarde could have been the Rambi of underwater if given strengths over the kongs, like swift and speedy swimming.


On another buddy though, I wish Squawks would return as rideable, as I had a good time with him in the older games...but I don't think I will live to see the day that Squawks will carry Donkey Kong through a level. Still though, they could eliminate Kong carrying, and make it so you can switch to Animal Buddy only and you could play as Squawks, Enguarde etc.


Oh well...it is what it is.

Squawks can carry Kiddy Kong which have the same strength so it's possible and nintendo logical XD

Ich kapiere es echt nicht. Beim letzten Spiel hab ich es ja noch verstanden, da die Kongs dort ja nicht schwimmen konnten... aber hier? Eine richtige Ungerechtigkeit!

Enguarde should have totally been in Tropical Freeze, water levels came back after their absence in Returns. The air gauge underwater wasn't really necessary.

Plus, the air gauge runs out pretty quick from what I noticed, making it risky to go back to get air because you can possibly run into a enemy, hazard, etc.

What was Retro trying to do? Tome down the Kongs' swimming ability Rare gave them in all four of their games?
