spoilers : there's could be a final version. also, the proportions of this map ares purely nonsensical, the same way as alternating between helvetica and arial.

because this is an hypersphere. actually DA is way more closer to hentai than the chans or myspace.
if we admit the theoretically transposition of the internet web with an infinity of interconnections, it's the most easy way to reanspose it to a map =]

Ah, I LOVE the "Sea of Memes"... it's definitely in the perfectly location, too.
I would say some countries should be bigger or smaller... but I can't complain, I wouldn't have come up with this idea in the first place. I laugh't.

I can definitely see that as a basic map for a strategy game (where you can take a single pirate-user, porn-addict or Microsoft's security manager, who needs to build an empire and conquer the whole network), which develops in real-time ~daydreaming~

that is the question : how to base those proportions ? megabytes downloaded by ip ? website space ( in petabytes ) or something like alexa did with the pageviews, etc.

I figured the proportions were just random, nothing wrong with that. But it does add certain comedy value to the sheer size of Porn sites
It'd be nice to see it in higher resolution though for a newer version. some of the finer text i'm finding a mite difficult to read. Just a suggestion, but it's still a great concept.

That's probably the coolest map I've ever seen. Did you just draw "random" continents, then fill them in depending on how much traffic each "place" receives, or did you do research first, then draw the contintents, etc...?
Although the net is always changing, a print of this would be awesome. I'd so get one.
