Got this idea off Cubone's origin story!Yeah, I feel sorry for the poor Pokemon for having Team Rocket kill its mother. Alice and Sammy are being its parents in practice for their new child's arrival! And tell ya what I bet Alice and Sammy are very good parents I must admit!
