I'm not very good at underwater scenes, but I always wanted to try one with Lugia so... there it is.Those are Wailord in the background by the way.
I've also noticed that in underwater scenes, nobody ever seems to draw Lugia with his back fins, spines, whatever they are, retracted/flattened. In the movie he clearly does that, so I made sure to do that in this pic. X3
Edit: So a few people pointed out that I didn't do his back fins quite right.. so I fixed it.. and yes.. I think it does look better so yay!

I really like this underwater scene of Lugia. It helps me to imagine what it must be like: being a bird and a really good swimmer seeing so deep underwater. Good job!

You're a lot better at underwater scenes than I am! I never noticed the fin-folding in the movie... I guess I wasn't paying attention to that.
I'm doing a project making Yu-Gi-Oh! versions of PokΓ©mon cards. Because my drawing skills aren't refined, I must rely on other DA artists for the pictures on the cards.
If you gave me permission, I'd like to use this picture for one of the Lugia cards.

Unfortunately it would take a long time to explain. I just suggest practicing and using references!

The lighting effects look awesome. You did a nice job with the underwater environment, I haven't tried that yet, I'm just a newbie at photoshop =d
The "hands" felt abit odd for me =S, I never thought of lugia spreading out it's thumb like that =O

I love Lugia's face in this one! The simple background looks a little empty at first sight but looking at it more closely I'd say I like it because it gives a feeling of a really deep and almost endless ocean. Very nice!

Ooo la la. o__o Although, I'd have to agree with ~Twilight-Spirit-Wolf . I've also noticed that the fins on his back actually flatten against his back, but, well, it's a bit too late to fix that without ruining the picture, isn't it? xD Ah well, you can always use it as future reference.
Other than the one bitty flaw, I think it turned out magnificently. 8D A definite favorite on my part.
