Now this is a pretty old character. I dont know what got me to draw him again because last tie I drew him it was over a year ago, but.. been using him in some stories so I guess that's what got me to do it. not sure. either way.. this is Calypso. the first dragon character I came up with. even before Crimson. I decided to redesign him this time. I took off his wings and gave him fins. sicne he is a water dragon. also.. in the new stories, he is a ghost. he died. so that is why he is floating and has the black eye and no mouth. because he is a spirit. kind of gives it a creepy look almost. but I like it. what I like more is the song I listened to while drawing it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDgqCs… gonna say that would be his theme. hey. it fits.Related content

you know, I considered changing him to a female before.. but decided against it. yet he's still a slender guy. I tried to make the face ghosstly. which is why I didnt put a mouth or eye. normally I would have made the eye smaller. but not like this. I bet if it had a black background and he had a glow effect it would be more creepy xD

Yeah, I was staring at his face for a while wondering what on earth made him look so distant! Great job, i really hope to see more of him! (especially if you add the glowing effect!;D)

Hmmm, I`m sure you would be able to make it look amazing! The thing that makes me love your art so much is your style, I`d rather see yours than someone else`s super colorful, overly cartoonist post!

only so much I can do with a pencil though. none of this is digital. heck, on that one I used mostly a number 2 pencil. usually I have some shadig pencils to use. tend to get darker shading with them. here it wasnt necessary.

nope. only thing I do digitally is crop after I take the picture with my phone. tend to take a lot of pictures of it.. the light in the area is something to consider. and I make sure it's always good.

Thats pretty awesome. I myself never use photo editing either so I can sympathize with the millions of photos that all kinda look the same!
