Description
EDI striking a pose in front of Shepard's fish tank!I figured if properly lit, this would create a whole lot of cool effects in her skin, not to mention have a proper environment to reflect in. I wasn't wrong, but in the end I did wish I could've blurred the reflections a little more. Tried in post, but the effect was obviously photoshopped and you guys know how I hate photoshopping my work anyway.
So yeah, even with the too-reflecty skin tone, I think she looks fabulous. Don't you?

One thing, (of a HUGE number of things), I REALLY wanted to do in ME3 was order EDI to reinstall skin-and-hair on that stolen body of her's.Β

You're very welcome.

Hmm. You could have used something else instead of the weapon. Something which does not radiate aggression. Because EDI is more like a lingerie model on your picture.

True enough, but two things:
A) EDI stands for Enhanced Defense Intelligence, she basically is a weapon (ideally that plays defense, but as seen in the games, regularly goes on offense). Weapons fit her character like a glove, she wouldn't be much use without them. Even before her shackles were removed she had access to all of Normandy's tactical systems.
B) Weapons do not necessarily equate to aggression. I see them more as symbols of power. Speak softly, carry a big stick as it were.

Do you think you could make a picture of her with a human body? What I mean is, her whole body will look like a normal human body except that it's grey.

Interesting. What for, if you don't mind my asking? Like what's the context.

No special reason. I've just always wondered what it would be like if EDI actually had a real body. Maybe Joker could try and experiment with her and actually turns her human, the story behind the picture.

Interesting idea, though I think Joker would be a little unqualified. Maybe Chakwas, or more likely, Mordin.

If you add a bit of rough to the material, that will blur the reflections.

I tried that but it ended up looking like rough glass, not blurred reflection. Thanks for the feedback though.

Look at the metal parts here β I used a simple Cycles Glossy shader with the roughness set to 0.2.

Ah. In 3ds's Mental Ray engine, doing this produces a frosted glass effect. I tried it on some other models.

I think it clashes just fine. Β HerΒ opaqueΒ plating is satin and smooth, while her transparent parts shine like glass/plastic with metal underneath should.

I suppose, I just thought the reflections looked too sharp.
