So true. Come on now, If jesus is so freaking real than why don`t he show him self and why don`t he call or see me. I don`t get how in the history channel they talk about him like they seen everything he did when he was alive. Also if he is real than why doesn`t he stop a.i.ds, cancer, child abuse and other bad things that are happening in the world? Because to me he isn`t fucking real. Even atheism has had it's flock of sheep; just look at how much energy is wasted to get it's ideasΒ forced onto people (and how strongly and blindly people adhere to it). The USSR and Mexico's bloody La Reforma both come to mind.
Atheism has had it's questionable moments, what's funny is how many people use atheism a sort of social crutch to stand on.

Well, that's when an idea, or an idea about a lack therof, is used as a means of controlling people... This has been seen in both religion and outside of it... I'm not sure where my head was when I made that initial comment, but religion is a tool for control. Anything can be made to be a tool of control, but Religion has always been that. I'm not just generalising Christianity here though. Christianity I will admit is the religion I have most issues with, what with it being inconsistent (and that's me being kind, and avoiding swear words), but all religions have ultimately been tools to control people on mass; even Buddhism as of late, what with recent events in the Far East, where upon Buddhists and Muslims have been in conflict with one another. The name of the country where this is happening escapes me, I think it might be Burma, but I might be wrong, I'll need to look it up.
Either way, I don't really think you can call atheism a "social phenomena" anymore. Maybe when the concept first took off, but not anymore. Unless you are actually religious, whereupon you'll likely see it as utter nonsense; which is also the biggest flaw with atheists. Neither side backs down because both believe they're right (although I am bias with atheists, because, should a god actually exist, I would still refuse to worship it, as I that God is a mean spirited soul to say the least; so I'd stick with no believing in a god at all).
As for me, I'm just baffled as to the spacing between your paragraphs. Since worse than being atheist, I'm also a bit of a grammar nazi... Probably wasn't a great idea commenting on my worthless rabble now, looking back in hindsight, was it? Β Β
