Dinner's ready and the dining room is full of ghastly guests there for you. The guest of honor! This is a special night and you wake up to this...

The smell of raw uncooked meat, spoiled greens, rotten vegetables, maggots and bugs. The table is set with our special friends who are welcoming you the guest of honor to dinner. Everyone is enjoying their meal as the sound of rattling forks and knifes dig into flesh. You hear chewing and crunching.

Your eyes open and your mind is clear. Everything smells great! What's for dinner you ask? Well...its YOU! Muwhahahahhahahah.

-Mods-Because this is a horror contest I don't consider my piece gore. The idea was monsters eating the viewer as they are witnessing a horror unimaginable.

I am such a huge fan of psychological horror and the macabre! I had fun with this piece and spent a lot more time than I had expected. I painted the entry from the viewers perspective as if they were sitting at the table witnessing a gruesome event. The viewer being the focal point. I also made sure the image had a certain claustrophobic element by closing in the sides with darker tones and adding details around the center piece main course dinner. I guess this piece could also be horror in November as a thanksgiving tribute to a degree. There are a lot of small details and hidden gems so be sure to look around the picture. In addition, Some of these monsters represents the deadly sins.

The sight of blood makes me get vertigo. One of my worst fears or nightmares is the fear of being eaten alive which came about in a nightmarish dream. Just the mere thought of it is pretty gruesome and scary. Watching a monster crunch down on your bones or even have juices pouring down its chin has always brought me dread. I hope this entry gives you the chills.
