Ever wonder what frame rate to animate at? What does it mean when someone says Singles? Doubles?

Find out by watching and seeing a side by side comparison as well as some explanation on why animations are done at different frame rates and how you can use it to your advantage.

If you're using threes, you have to think about what frames to take out, because as it is now, it looks like it's front legs go backwards on one frame.

Threes, in my experience are used when the animation require a different kind of rhythm, and it doesn't work on either twos nor fours. (I barely if ever animate on ones, and the twos are put together by the inbetweener artist.)

Try putting in a different drawing, and the movement will flow differently, but more interestingly.

From experience the animation industry typically animates at 24 frames per second on doubles (singles are only for super fast paced movements), though in my country the broadcasting speed is 25 frames per second oof

25 frames per second is how fast the screen refreshes in television. Old-school, cathode-ray style.
