Read some of the comments on the video. I have a few sad endings myself, though for me the reason isn't really clear; haven't figured it out yet. (I tend to write rather than draw, so I guess it's not so much about the characters' emotions as the readers' emotions, in my case.)
You mentioned that for you, it's about the portrayal of the characters' emotions. I think you do a wonderful job with it! Keep up the wonderful work!

Now that you say that, I realize that sad endings are fun because toying with people's emotions is fun. Maybe that's why I write sad endings. XD
