this knight got rejected on a technical point---it wasn't advent and dynamic enough. am mighty pleased that the commissioner find my previous original drawing, done with pencils, so captivating till this knight couldn't match the impact that drawing gave. so thanks commissioner, it's a big compliment
drawing i was asked to base it on:
(drawn by me for another commissioner, lol. 1st time i was asked to refer back to own drawing XD )
working on reworked knight right now. in mean time, you guys can have a look at this one. i rather like its colours (i did half a dozen colour schemes
) . no idea how i did this one exactly---i just remember a lot of trial and error via closing the layers, which is the fun part in itself, the discovering of [Ooooh, so THIS is how it will look like if i close/open this layer], lololif you want to take a peak at the wip of the reworked knight, it's here:

I agree that the other one is a bit more captivating, though this one is still good XD.
It might have something to do with the angle.

actually, yeah, you hit it spot on--it's got something to do with the angles and dynamics. seems like i am awesome with certain extreme angles oh yeah~/is piaked/grin
i guess the pencils have a better feel of textures and mood too. pencils are my 1st love

I wish I was better at pencils and extreme angles myself XD You seem to have a knack for both.
Seeing all your beautiful pencil art inspired me to try going back to my pencils...but my attempt is looking awful right now.

thanks, i still suck at high angles actually, lol. i guess am better at low angle, as it was the 1st extreme angle that i got asked to do in one of my earliest commissions...pity my high angle doesn't seem to go as well unless the [camera] is not directly situated over the head of the character XD;

I think I have an okay grasp of high angles, if by high angles you mean the "bird's eye view" (I get them confused sometimes XD) but I can't do the worm's eye view at all! Guess I'll just have to practice
