Description
Sonic Mania is finally here and to celebrate today I have created a new poster which will be revealed later tomorrow and cool things in the following days for fans of my work.
Let's kick this off with a countdown and some illustrations to go with it...
All of these illustrations were created by myself. I imposed a particular requirement on these illustrations though which was... use Illustrator and only Illustrator ... No Photoshop touching up allowed.
This got me to approach creating things unconventionally and exploring alternative and non destructive techniques to recreate elements like brush strokes and messing around with effects.
It was an interesting process which got me thinking out of the box with some parts on how to make it work.
I'm quite happy with the results

Such fantastic drawings of Classic Sonic, Tails and Knuckles that you have done! They look like official artwork of them! And I love the numbers to the countdown and like Casey said, where they represent when they all made their debut to the games!

I did a lot or researching on their original looks and recreating them. It was actual quite a challenge just using Illustrator on top of this as many times I would be like "It would take me about a min to do what I want with Photoshop but Illustrator it has to be so how do i work around this?". Much appreciated for the kind words

That's a very nice concept for this illustration you've done for the release of "Sonic Mania", and I also like how each of the numbers represent the games that all three characters were able to make their debut in as well.
