I don't know about 'yall, but that redemption thing at the end of Equestria Girls was just horrible. If it were up to me it would have been something like this. Now I'm not much of a comic artist, but I hope I conveyed the idea well enough.EDIT: I am frequently getting the comment: The chains are too dark. Or This would be better without the chains. Or I don't think the chains are appropriate. Now, I'm not really a good person to say what is or is not appropriate, but are you guys seriously being irked by chains? CHAINS? It's a commonly used restraining device. You know those links between hand cuffs? CHAINS. I'm not about to judge any of you, but I just don't understand how this would be considered inappropriate.
The second panel is set up to be DARK and MOODY to lead up to the emotional aspect of the following panels. I'm glad some of you are getting that dark feeling but I can't help but find it silly to be off put by chains. How would you have me restrain her? Word of mouth? Regular jail bars? This isn't a question of morality, but one of restraining a potent magic user. A former student of Celestia.
Also it isn't explicitly stated but she is only in there for a few hours before they come in. You guys are letting your imagination over react

I don't hate this ending, but I'm not too fond of it. Sunset just up and apologizing to her former mentor just doesn't cut it for me. Sunset seems like the kind of Vegeta-esque villain to me.

I'm looking at this again... did Sunset deage in the last two panels? She seems shorter and is missing her cutie mark. Was that the intention? That Celestia made her a filly to try and raise her right this time?

I like the chains, actually. I think they're symbolic of the mindset Sunset Shimmer has put herself in - in the canon ending, she says she didn't know there was another way to exist. In this alternate ending you've made we really get to see that mentality, that inability to understand forgiveness and friendship. The chains are like a metaphor for how her own cynicism has cut her off from being with others on an emotional level.

I agree, that redemption scene was kinda lame and for me it felt kinda rushed..
And yes you did very well!! This would have been a better ending.
I like how Celestia looks so powerful in the 6th panel yet in the last two panels she's so kind, gentle, motherly and loving. ^u^

I'm pretty sure that, after the Elements cleansed Sunset, she (like Luna before her) expected nothing but death for her treachery and for succumbing to her dark impulses. It's just that Twilight doesn't do things that way.
