They say that it takes a village to raise a child, and for the once sickly Cheryl, this was as literal a case as it got - in fact, when she was born, she had to be quarantined for a disease she contracted from her mother, whom died just after giving birth. After many, many years of expensive treatment and therapy, she finally became healthy enough to leave home. However, her hometown fell into poverty, and many of the people became homeless. A combination of great empathy for the fallen village and a desire to see the world persuaded her to leave home to become an explorer. And with the help of some friends, she was able to bring home more than enough treasure to not only put her hometown back on the map but also evolve it into a port town. She now helps out in her family's inn.

Cheryl's personality is often summed up as spunky, energetic, selfless, and outgoing - and to some, romantic. However, she's highly pacifistic, and often avoids conflict. Remembering to use the bathroom before leaving also tends to slip her mind, which well explains her tendency to wear bikini bottoms (as in the literal bottom part ofa bikini) and black bottoms, which are usually either a short skirt or "booty shorts", which are often accompanied with a crop top or a strapless shirt (as you can see, she likes the Valentine's palette). She doesn't like to wear a bra, as she doesn't like restraints on her body (also because she is pretty fussy about people being able to see her bra). She prefers to wear sneakers.
