The Pulse beetle are insectoid rahi which have an external organ in the backwith which they are able to emit electromagnetic waves that
produce paralysis and even death to other small Rahi.

You could've just said that it has an EMP emitter. Given that all beings within Matoran Universe are biomechanical, an EMP pulse can be potentially paralytic (I imagine that the sentient species are wired to have a certain amount of resistance to EMP, otherwise they'd be very easy to knock down).
