Description "Blake's Pygmy Sasquatch"

At just 3 feet tall, but with a very muscular build, the Pygmy Sasquatch is one of the most successful primates in Gothalebra, and beaten out vastly in size by its nearest relative, the 14-foot tall Gigantopithecus Neo.

Pygmy Sasquatch live in very large groups of 50 to 80, and mainly feed on Strip Coral and Fan Weaver stalks, deep in the southern edge of Greyfern Ridge.

They are among the most social primates to ever live, and even show a caste system in their large communities.

They are extraordinary in their reproductive biology, having one of the shortest pregnancy periods of any mammal, at just 3 months!

This is probably due to their high rate of predation, as many Gothalebra predators eat this plentiful, but very resourceful species.

"They've entered the Stone Age... Literally."

The Pygmy Sasquatch are a matriarchal run species, with Alpha females that rule their roosts.

However, males are bigger and serve as guards to each community.

The adults carry a polished Peza Wood staff and a wicker-woven purse that holds an Obsidian Ax Stone, with a sharpened edge and a blunt carved-out hilt that serves as a handle.

Their Peza Wood staffs are among the hardest and most durable makeshift weapons in all of Gothalebra, due to a concrete-like Coral paste that mineralizes inside of it, creating a petrified branch.

Scores of these apes can often be seen beating down huge land crocs, or ground owls that have gotten too close to their homestead.

They will often eat fish when in season, and will scavenge meat from carcasses, often scaring off predators from their kills with their huge numbers and petrified wooden staffs.

Astonishingly, for animals that have so many members in each clique, and for ones that reproduce so fast, they can live very long lives, with some being able to live 140 years or longer!
