Description the finale to my Superman/Captain America trilogy.
This time highlighting of course Civil War. I choose Kingdom come as it was one of elseworld stories where the heroes went to war. While injustice would have likely been more fitting I am not a fan of that series.
Also I feel this kind of plays on themes from the comic kingdom come

This is where the events of Man of Action play a huge part. The league has proven their superiority. Bad guys cant beat them, The government can't stop them, the mankind is forced to bow to the Superheroes and request that the League monitor their own.

When the Teen Titans mess up a confrontation with the H.I.V.E. and their bodyguard the Ravanger resulting in the death of Terra Markov the youngest child of the Markovian royal family
The public perception changes against Superheroes.

Meanwhile the Batman contends with a deadly new foe known as the Joker who attempts to poison the Gotham's water supply forcing the Dark Knight to destroy the reservoir only adding to the tension

The League becomes divided on the power the public has bestowed upon them and their role in the world
Superman believes as long as people are safe that is all that matters
However Batman believes should they continue down this path it is only a matter of time before Checkmate, Argus or any government in the world attempts to come after them again and more innocent people are caught in the crossfire

Things reach a boiling point when the young new hero Magog arrives and kills the Joker after a rampage that leaves Lois Lane hospitalized!
Who was only freed when Batman brings Martian Manhunter in to try and repair Joker's shattered mind and ends up driven insane himself and freeing many of the Arkham patients.

When Superman and a team of leaguer attempt to go after Joker who pops back up in Corto Maltese given diplomatic immunity. Clashing with Batman and the rest of the League who want to stop an international incident should the heroes go but the Markovian leader Geo-Force on the steps of the Hall of Justice

Clark Kent digs into Magog's past and soon learns the truth as does Batman realizing Joker is alive. Ending up in Iraq where Magog is revealed to be Deathstroke the father of Ravanger wanting revenge against the League.

He is aware how much Batman wants to fix his mistake of creating a joker and presents to him a Lazarus pit to heal the clown prince but to no avail.
Leading Batman to feel he must kill Joker or every crime he commits is on his hands leading to of course Batman vs Superman

In the end Superman comes to the conclusion that as heroes they stand for something or everything they have been fighting for is pointless
This is Superman embracing what he represents. He died and return from the dead to the public thats a big deal
He is seen as this big blue boy scout
Ultimate good
Imagine how the public would view him if he started playing judge, jury and executioner?
He's not here to install fear
He's here to bring hope

Other major changes
Robin feeling abandoned by Batman bonds with Superman and receives the new identity of Nightwing (something Supes picks up during Men of Steel)

Batman creates the Outsiders. To do the work the League cant do along with Geo-Force.
