Something of the sort. She's actually more of a shape-shifting alien; having no physical body of their own, they inhabit a several hosts over the early stages of their creation - studying how the body works and how that particular culture interacts within itself. When they're ready, they detach from their hosts and create their own body - then find positions of social grace or power in order to increase their chances of meeting someone to pair with. Nahira wears that mask because she can't properly hold the color of her eyes - and the constant shifting tends to creep people out. THus, the mask keeps them more at ease than the alternative does.

Well, she's yet another one of my mixed-gender characters. Nahira's original host - a woman - died before she could complete her studies. In desperation, she took the next closest body - a male, this time. When it came time to create her new body, she couldn't decide which gender she wanted (by birth, they're more like a genderless conciousness); and so she settled for something in the middle. (By rights, she can 'fix' this with her abilities - but it would require a great deal of effort to do so without breaking anything else in the process).
... In short, she's already maintaining an extra complex body. She had to give up something small in order to maintain the energy she needs to keep her faux-body working in every other area.
But to be honest, none of what I just said is actually official, yet. I havn't even decided if she's going to be mixed at this point. It could be just as easy to say that she bungled something when she created herself.... That sounds a bit wierd, doesn't it?

*ponders* Well. There's Katrina, who you've seen... She's the white-haired catgirl; I think you've also commented on Savannah, the pirate queen - and maybe Alexandria, the guardian angel. The ones on my DA page are all examples. I have seventy-some-odd in total, across a few different formats and games. I'm slowly working on getting them all drawn out with their original looks; but you can probably imagine the price tag on so many of them! They run a broad range of concepts, as well, but it tends to be the personalities that really set them apart from each other.

My 'main' batch is on another site, but I currently have that taken down while I do this commission project - so I can present them all with original designs and images, rather than rely on simple close-matches I was able to procure through imageboards.
