Scoots isnt an orphan though. The writers have said multiple times that Scootaloo has parents, they just dont show up. Outside the show, there was even a story where they describe her parents as "not active in her life" and she spends a lot of her time with her two aunts. Whether you count that as canon or not is up to you of course
