Description

A sort of rough and dirty breakdown of what I was doing for the other guy. Toriel probably wasn't the best choice since she covers a lot of features with the robe, but never the less, it was what they wanted me to do for them.

1. Skeleton: Just a wording for creating the "stick figure" from which I build up the character from. This is where I decide on the pose and get a general idea of the perspective.

2. Rough Shapes: This is where I build up on the skeleton to start laying the ground for the rough lines. These shapes can range from muscles, fatty deposits, armor plates, clothing features, horns, and anything really... The idea is just to get the general shape of the character made.

3. Rough Lines: This is where things start to make sense. Using the rough shapes as a guide, I build up the rough lines and finalize the major shapes to make the character.

4. Line Art: Using the rough lines as a general guide, I create the line art.

5. Lighting: Technically "rendering", I usually do this first before I do the coloring so I can just focus on the light logic when working. I often start shadows first, then work up to the lightest areas.

6. Coloring: Pretty self explanatory. Often I go back and tweak some of the lights in the rendering parts in order to not appear as super bright in certain places (to get rid of the shiny plastic/rubbery look that often plagues furry art).

Again, pretty rough and dirty, but a process never the less.
