Oh look! More fan art of a character that many people don't seem to like!So I noticed that I never drew anyone in uniform that much, let alone do much with characters who are cops due to a bit of an uneasy relationship with the police in real-life not really knowing much about cops outside of CB talk and those few times at the cop shop. However, I like to "draw disproportionate big dudes" and big women, and then there was this fan art...
Really, seeing Zootopia as a dystopian film makes it a lot more enjoyable and sense making. And honestly, out of all the characters involved, I think Chief Bogo is one of if not the scariest character to deal with. Sure, he's a big hunk of beef like the Tauren are, but Cape Buffalo are one of the most violent herbivores you'll encounter, let alone most bulls being able to ward of lions without a fuss. Top it of with being chief of police of Precinct 1... And we know as of posting this, relationships with cops are just honky-dory and alright, even in fiction-land.
On the technical side, it's just the usual stockiness that I would be drawing but with more clothes, on top of the same treatment of what I did when I drew Gazelle. However, unlike the ink-suit version of Shakira, this guy wasn't based on the voice actor as far as I know, so I had a bit more freedom to do what I wanted to do... And yes, everyone gets shoes because I'm not in the mood to draw hooves and paws (and really, the original style wasn't realistic with the animals anyway, so I had some room on that part).
And no, he's not actually flabby; wearing an A-shirt under a uniform will make the mid section look rounder on someone who isn't ab-crazy but still physically strong.

I'm a bit intimidated, actually.

Well you should. Bogo is big, strong, and his voice is so commanding!

But so is Grommash Hellscream of the Warcraft/WoW games. But look at how I see him; just a big, goofy, hard to take seriously guy who would probably be better at conquering things in the bedroom than the battlefield.
Then again, a police chief is a real job with real power, where as war chief is just some fantasy class/job title. Bogo is scary because of the badge, the buffalo is just icing.

Plus, as police chief you often have to deal with random crazy people who want you dead.

You mean like the District Attorney or Mayor?

More than that, I meant random psychotic criminals they might come across.

Well, Cape Buffalo only have one true predator, and it's the lions... But even then, lions lose a lot of fights to them. They also have no problem with attacking humans and killing them too.
Even by Zootopia's rules, I don't think you can bring down a Cape Buffalo easily. I'm assuming anything smaller than a rifle bullet would just piss Bogo off. But I think the most freighting situation would be if he went savage... It would be like watching the Hulk go on a rampage, and that's scarier than any predator animal going savage.
