Curling his wing around you some more, James shifted into a slightly more comfortable position.

I leaned my head against his side, soon falling asleep comfortably surrounded by the warmth

James drifted off too after a while, keeping you there protectively.

I woke in the morning, mumbling as I cuddled against James more, wanting to go back to sleep

Soon after, though, the dragon awoke as well. He stretched his wings, and the cold morning air was let in to the space you were in, that had been dragon-body heated moments before.

I shuddered, whimpering and whining. "Nooo...I don't wanna wake up..."

"But it's morning, Ethan," James replied. He nudged you with his nose, smiling a bit.

I whined. "I don't care...I'm still sleepy..."

James got up, spreading his wings. "Then go back to sleep. I'm going hunting."

"No...I wanna be warm..."

The dragon shrugged. "There's firewood in the next room, if you can figure out how to light it," he said before heading out and leaping off the ledge at the doorway of the cave, flying off.

I sighed, sitting up, deciding to stay awake with my heat source gone, and being my lazy self, not wanting to light the firewood

After a while, the green dragon returned, carrying a good sized buck deer in his claws. He set it on a stony part of the floor. "You hungry?"

I looked up at him, smiling. "A bit."

"Good." James skinned the deer with his claws, and then started to roast it with his firebreath.

I watched, smiling. "...sometimes I wish I was a dragon..."

James's mouth quirked in a bit of a smile, but he didn't respond just yet. That would have meant breaking off his fire. Soon, there was a good sized piece of meat well cooked, and he placed it in front of you. "Breakfast."

I smiled, reaching forward to take it. "Thanks~!" I said, taking a bite from it. "Ah, hot, hot, hot!" I yelped

James was immediately there, looking concerned. "Are you okay?"

I nodded. "Yeah." I mumbled, sucking in air and swallowing it with the meat. "I was just being an idiot."

James backed off again, but he still looked concerned.

I smiled. "I'm fine, James."

"If you're sure..." the dragon said hesitantly.

I laughed softly, smiling and relaxing

"Do you think your food is cool enough for you to eat now?" James asked, pulling back.

"Good, then eat. You're not allowed to starve."

I pouted. "Missing ONE meal won't kill me."

"Nothing," the dragon said, shaking his head. "Just eat."

James watched, then started on his own meal.

I smiled, looking over to him every now and again, soon finished

The dragon was soon done as well. "Full?" he asked.

I nodded, sighing in relief. "Yeah."

"Good. What would you like to do today?" James asked with a toothy, dragon smile.

The dragon perked up, looking ecstatic. "Really?"

"No reason..." He came over to where you were, toppling you over with his snout.

I yelped, falling on my butt before laughing ."Hey~!"

James laughed, crouching. His tail wagged a little, making him look oddly like a cat for a moment.

I smirked. "Hey, where'd James go~? He was replaced with a kitty cat~!"

"We are related, cats and dragons," James replied with a chuckle. "Let's play!"
