Well in Talespin cartoon show, Shere Khan is base on Business Man or gentleman in modern day like ours, But if you think about it in jungle out for survival, he will be base on street fighter slash with karate style type of tiger. Though still respect the law, except for man. For him as a strict Father, he be very over protective of his daughter saying like "Daughter! how many time I have to say not to play with your food, especially a ManCub!!!"

I really like that idea!! I'm not against getting a little modern with the clothes and characters here. After all, most of their outfits are modern anyway. Except the wolf-pack, but that could be another reason Shere Khan doesn't want Charu to associate with Mowgli, he hangs out with the wolves. I can see him as a tough business/mafia type or a street-fighter type, both of those would work. That last line -- so perfect
