Yeah, I saw a few people hinting at Mario being homophobic... But i never really got those vibes from him? I honestly think it stems from Luigi being really shy and not exactly the most open-- living in Mario's shadow all his life-- and the fact that Mario has to face that jerkface Bowser to save his girlfriend all the time. Which... understandably would make somebody angry/annoyed. THOUGH, Mario also lets his enemies play sports/go-kart racing with him all the time... So it makes me think it really is just stealing his girlfriend that he has an issue with. Because otherwise he's like "SURE you can play! I'mma gonna win, but you can play-ah!"
