I hear them flying over our place from time to time. You can't miss the rotor sound. The experimental designation is used on any aircraft either home built or not initially built for civilian use.

I love the "Experimental" on the door. Ex-military kit gets an experimental tag when it goes civvy over there. God I hate UK flying authorities. They are so determined to prevent people from flying it's shameful!

The Huey was iconic in Jamaica as the helicopters used by the Jamaica Defense Force Air Wing. JDF Hueys were a very familiar sight over Kingston in the '70s and '80s.
The JDF Air Wing's first helicopter was a Bell 47 flown by Robert Neish, who eventually became Chief of Staff of the JDF in the '80s.
Probably the best-known JDF helicopter was the one Bell 222 it had in the early '80s. Airwolf was showing on local TV at the time and everyonce called the JDF's 222 "the Airwolf". Unfortunately, it was lost in a crash just after transporting then Prime Minister Edward Seaga to a public function.
The JDF Air Wing currently flies Blackhawks.
