I've noticed a lot of controversy about people making Twilight black. In truth,I don't see why that even matters. It is how others see her. If it isn't the same as you see her,why should you attack them. Looking at the picture on the right,I like how it looks and does fit her. In fact,that was how I wanted her to look but avoided it because I didn't feel like dealing with the crap I would get but I don't care anymore.Twilight does not belong to me

normally I don't really cared about the skin color of humanized Ponies, unless it comes to Luna. Thou it could be due to the fact that I see the princess of the night to be pale since she would rarely be out during the day, actually how many times have we seen Luna during the day, when there aren't important matters? Hell she wasn't even seen until the end of the episode at night.

Well.... part of the argument is more cultural than it is racist. Granted, most people don't have a lick of sense when it comes to what they complain about, but after watching the entire series, some people just attribute Twilight being "black" with the trendy bangs and color purple being commonly synonymous with black individuals.
While I find that stereotypical and a tad blunt, it'd be the same as expecting Zecora to not be black, and instead, be... I dunno, anything else. Scandinavian, for instance.

The reason dark-skinned twi seems to work to many is simply because either
A) She is the darkest of all the other ponies or
B) Color palette wise, dark skin seems to always work with purple. Look at Yoruichi and Tousen from Bleach, or Isis, Malik and Yami from Yugioh. Being that purple is a cool color, it seems to go better with a warmer skin tone such as brown or even light tan.
I for one like dark Twilight (since I'm black and I cosplay Twilight XD), but no one should bash interpretation. MY only qualm is when people say "She doesn't sound black" or "She doesn't act black" WHOA! Hold the fuck up people. First off, her being dark doesn't always mean that she's of African decent. Two, not all black people act the same. That pisses me off so much =_=

I don't disagree, I love the diversity between humanized ponies, especially when people make them other nationalities. It's interesting to see what sort of heritage people give the ponies, like a bit of Spanish in Applejack's, or some French in Rairty's. For me, it's just that Twilight doesn't sound black to me. It might sound bad like that but she really doesn't...

Sometimes (especially in my town) black people have a certain tone of voice. I'm not saying I expect all black people to use Ebonics or anything, their voices, to me, just tend to be a different pitch than whites.

But you konw what. Screw it. Twilight Sparkle is a fictional purple unicorn. Trying to justify people's hate of her being dark skinned is waste of brain cells. Being dark doesn't make you stupid, lazy, aggressive, or UNATTRACTIVE nor does affect speech patterns. It's a genetic dice roll we all go through.

While I understand that everyone has their own opinion, I would like to know your reasoning behind this?
Personally, I have never heard one way or the other on the topic of whether people find black women attractive. If it is so simple, then it should be easy to prove?

I have nothing about any of the characters being black or hispanic or any other ethnicity. The problem I have is that when I see a group photo of the Mane 6, it's almost always white, white, white, white, white, and then there's one that's a different color, and it's almost always Twilight. To me, it seems like they do it just to say: "BOOM! There, she's black. You can't say I'm racist now cause she's black!"
Although I do have a preference to see them as primarily white, I wouldn't mind it so much if at least half of the Mane 6 be a different color, or even a multicultural image! I haven't seen one image where the characters are different races to match their personality and I'd actually like to see one of those!

Really, people need to open their eyes a bit more. Our world is more than just white white white. We're all different shades of color, so why cant fandom cartoons be the same way? I dont have a problem with people who see the characters as all white(though it is a problem if they're racist pricks), but I tip my hat to people who can see the characters as different shades and colors. Love and tolerate diversity people! There's nothing wrong with seeing a character as a darker shade of color.

Go by their personalities to see what you think is right for them. That's how it works for a lot of non-human characters.

I tend not to color skin in my work so people get up in arms with me about not having any racially diverse characters...I don't care either way I just don't want my lines being lost behind a lot of color. Not to mention I am 100% colorblind and to me people are literally all gray. When I anthro ponies I never make them fully human so I get to keep their fur color as skin, makes it easier cause no one can attack me for their original colors.
