Chapter Eight

Sabrina pulls up to the apartment.

Sabrina: Hitome! Wake up, it's time to leave!

Hitome looks at Sabrina slightly blushing.

Hitome: Yes, yes I'm on the way.

Hitome hears a door open and looks, Tsubaki is seen waving at her cheerfully smiling.

Tsubaki: Have a good day Hitome!

Hitome: Thanks, I'll be back soon alright!

Hitome enters Sabrina's car and both leave for school.

Sabrina: So Tsubaki is finally in her own body. I'm surprised you aren't in extreme pain.

Hitome: That happened yesterday but fine as of now.

Sabrina: Is that so? Well atleast you're taking care of your female form. I bet Faya would say something about your hair though just being pulled back instead of styled.

Hitome: She does seem rather pushy about that. But atleast it looks nice. You know I'm not much of a stylist to begin with.

Sabrina: True, yet there are many who have been looking for you these past days.

Hitome looks at Sabrina with a disgusted look.

Hitome: The professor and Delta?

Sabrina: Well...yes. He still wants a DNA sample from you.

Hitome: Is this why you came to get me, instead of Delta?

Sabrina slams on the breaks. Hitome quickly grows angered and looks at Sabrina.

Hitome: Sabrina! What the-

Sabrina is shaking. Tears are slowly seen dropping down her cheek as she holds onto the steering wheel.

Sabrina: I was worried about you. Do you not know how it feels to have a friend suddenly change in front of you, have dramatic health changes and personalities? It's all...too sudden to handle. You being so nice now compared to the jerk you were before. Actually buying me a gift, a necklace at that, on my birthday that you finally remember. You're changing too much...and it's worrying me. I'm not used to this kindness from you.

Sabrina looks towards Hitome.

Sabrina: Why? Why haven't you changed back? Will this be the new you? Forever a female, no longer the male who takes life as a carefree vacation? What does it take to bring you back to normal?

Sabrina places her hands on her face. Hitome places her hand on her shoulder.

Hitome: I didn't know that this new change would bug you so much. But honestly, do you think I really want to be this way all the time? The time will come when I change back. Don't worry, time will tell. So stop crying, if you think negatively nothing will get better.

Sabrina wipes the tears away and nods.

Sabrina: Yeah, you're right. I don't know what came over me.

Hitome: It's alright, let's get to class.

Sabrina: ...Hitome...

Hitome: ...Yes?

Sabrina: Hitome.

Hitome: Sabrina.

Sabrina: Hitome!

Hitome feels a sharp pinch on her shoulder.

Sabrina: Wake up! We're here.

Hitome looks at Sabrina half dazed and looks around.

Hitome: A dream? So you didn't emotionally have a break down?

Sabrina: Eh? Oh so that's what your dream was about?

Hitome: Meh, it's nothing. Let's just go in.

Hitome leaves the car embarrassed.

Sabrina: Is she worrying about me?

Sabrina powers down the car and locks it. She then follows Hitome into the classroom. Faya quickly grabs Hitome and sits her down and backs away from her.

Faya: Yes, your hair needs fixing. Now sit still.

She then grabs her purse and pulls out make-up and applies some on Hitome. She then buns Hitome's hair and place sticks in her hair. Finally she pulls out a uniform and gives it to Hitome.

Faya: Change. Shoes too.

Hitome sighs and then walks away. Professor Strikes walks past Hitome and enters the classroom. Moments later Hitome enters the room and walks to Faya.

Hitome: Do you really expect me to wear high heels in this outfit?!

Faya: Oh come on. It looks cute on you.

Hitome pauses a moment and looks around the room. Eyes stare her down as she quickly begins blushing.

M. Student: Who's the secondary professor?

F. Student: She's pretty!

M. Student2: Professor Strikes' wife?

Hitome: N-no!

P. Strikes: Hitome??!!

The class look at her face then her figure.

Hitome: S-stop it...this is so embarrassing. Why dress me so...so-

Voice: Sexy my love!

Hitome suddenly grows flustered.

Hitome: Oh great...not him...

Max enters the room and tosses flowers at Hitome. She catches them and gives them to Faya.

Max: Eh?

Hitome: I'm taken.

Males: Noooooo!

Delta: Geez guys, it's J-

Sabrina: Can it!

Max slumps his shoulders and walks out.

Max: Can I atleast have a-

Hitome pushes him out the room and sits down.

P. Strikes: Hmmm. Your pretty popular with the guys eh Joey?

Hitome: Just get on with the lesson.

Delta: Wait! Blood test first!

P. Strikes: Ah yes, thanks Delta.

Hitome: WHAT!?

Delta grabs Hitome as the professor grabs a needle.

Hitome: Delta let go!

Delta: Nah, it's for science.

Hitome looks at the professor highly upset.

Hitome: I'll engrave your name on your shin if you stick me with that needle with these heels!

Delta applies a little pressure on Hitome's shoulder.

Hitome: D-Delta! That hurts!

Hitome slowly grows dizzy. As she begins to lose consciousness the professor draws her blood and places it in a special storage department.

P. Strikes: Just what kind of technique are you using?

Delta: Technique? It's not really one. I'm just cutting off the blood supply in vital spots thus making her tired and dizzy. When I release her, she'll be normal again but after us because of the blood loss.

Hitome glares at Delta and grabs his hand. She then stands up and tosses him into a corner in the room.

P. Strikes: An over the shoulder toss. Sabrina your teaching her well.

Sabrina: Eh? I don't use that move though. That's Joey's ability actually.

Hitome turns to the professor and slowly walks to him.

P. Strikes: Now now Hitome. We don't need me to be harmed do we?

The professor gives a weak smile and moves away from Hitome. She then sprints to him and runs into him.

P. Strikes: Oh crap!

He stands still while Hitome clings onto his shirt heavily breathing. He grabs her arms, stands her up and holds on to her. He then leans Hitome back and looks at her pupils.

P. Strikes: She's still well tired. Pushing herself beyond her limit.

Hitome pushes herself away from him and stands up.

Hitome: N-non-sense. I'm alright.

The professor looks at her legs shaking and grabs her shoulders before she collapses. He places her head on his shoulders as she continues breathing heavily.

P. Strikes: Alright. Sabrina, you are responsible of taking her back to rest up. She needs to be resting properly, no excessive walking, movement, arguing, etc. Anything that will stress her. If you want I'll give you leave and credit for watching her since I need to analyze her blood. Considering Joey was a subject to injection and your babysitting.

Sabrina: A grade to watch sleeping beauty hmm? I'll accept. Will you help me load her in my car?

P. Strikes: Alright. The rest of you page 391 in your books. I shall return.

Students: Awwww!

The professor and Sabrina leave the classroom and enter the parking lot. He places Hitone in the passenger seat and lowers it so she could lay down.

P. Strikes: Was she fully aware earlier?

Sabrina: Yes, she seemed normal again. But I'm unaware why she's so tired now. And I doubt Delta's technique did anything. There isn't anything too vital on the shoulder nor neck region. It must be the injection still.

P. Strikes: Agreed. Monitor her while she returns to normal. I wanna know what's going on and I'll drop by to get another sample.

Sabrina: Alright.

P. Strikes: See you later on. Report in when you get the chances.

Sabrina: Alright. Till then.

Sabrina enters the vehicle and leaves the campus. Silence fills the car for a while until Sabrina reaches Joey's apartment. She covers her mouth as fire trucks and ambulances are seen spraying a small section of the house and Tsubaki on a stretcher. Sabrina leaves the car and runs over to Tsubaki.

Sabrina: Tsubaki! Tsubaki!

Tsubaki looks at Sabrina and smiles. She looks exhausted and seems to be breathing heavily. A gas mask is placed over her face as she is placed into the ambulance.

Sabrina: Uh, please wait! I know her! Please let me take her with me!

M. Nurse: I'm sorry but I can't allow that. She was found laying on the ground while apparently cooking. A small fire started but another girl saved her and slowed the fire. Yet she seems mute. As well as rather homeless. She's being taken in for questioning for-

The mysterious girl runs past the officer and to Hitome. She shakes her a few times crying but Hitome doesn't move. The officers grab her, places her on the ground and handcuff her. Sabrina begins growing upset.

Sabrina: Why are you two harming her? She lives there with Hitome and Tsubaki! Let her go or I'll order my father to release you of your positions!

The officers look at Sabrina slightly confused then at her vehicle.

Officer 1: Let her go. I know this young lady. Her father would toss us in jail for failing to listen to his daughter.

They release the girl as she gets up and places her head on Hitome's lap.

Sabrina: Tsubaki as well, she's just tired so there isn't a need to take her from here. It'll only cause confusion to her and scare her because Hitome isn't there to help her.

The nurses look at each other and then nod. They place Tsubaki in the back seat and walk away. The scene clears slowly, police, fire trucks, and ambulances leave the area. The girl wipes her tears away and smiles.

Sabrina: You better start talking or writing what happened or I'll take you to where you came from or to jail.

She quickly tears up with a frightened look.

Hitome: You'll do no such...thing to her! She saved...Tsubaki! I'll never...forgive you if you...ditch her!

Sabrina looks at Hitome in shock then lowers her head.

Sabrina: How do you know it wasn't her! Tsubaki was almost killed in a burning house while she was somewhere. Who knows where she was!

Tsubaki: N-no. I was to blame. I fainted while cooking. She pulled me outside while she attempted to stop the fire.

Voice: Luckly we were there.

Sabrina looks around.

Sabrina: Aseo! Nyu!

Aseo: Zerc asked me to check on Joey's house while he was away but I never thought it would catch fire. Nyu was the one who called the ambulance. That girl did alright saving Tsubaki.

Nyu: I'm surprised she didn't call for help myself but as you heard, she's mute.

Aseo: Speaking of which, where is Joey?

Sabrina sighs.

Sabrina: It's a long story Aseo. But he...well-

Voice2: She's in the passenger front seat.

Nyu: Syras?

Aseo: Hmm? But I only see a chick.

Hitome: A...seo?

Aseo: Your kidding me right? Wow. Went from male to female. Just like Zerc said.

Nyu: Really? But she's so pretty.

Hitome blushes slightly and turns her head.

Nyu: It really is Joey. Uh, what is his girl name?

Syras: Hitome. Sabrina named him after a failed attempt from the professor to "harm intruders" with an injection. Mixing two fluids caused another with Tsubaki's DNA may trigger to them being connected some how.

Nyu: Makes sense. So how long are the changes to last?

Sabrina: The effects are unknown to us. We're still waiting for her to revert back into the male form.

Hitome: This is lovely and all...but I'm rather cold.

Tsubaki: D-don't be...rude H-Hitom-e...

Hitome and Tsubaki begin heavily breathing.

Zerc: What's going on with them?

Sabrina: I'm unsure.

Aseo: Why is mutty listening to their hearts beats?

Syras: Something is dramatically wrong.

The mysterious girl lifts her head and begins massaging Hitome's arms. Hitome looks at her and gives a weak grin.

Hitome: Now that...I remember, I never got...your name. What is it?

Hitome grows silent and drops limp. The young female repeatedly shakes Hitome. Hitome looks at her completely unconcious.

Hitome: Serenity eh? That's a...pretty name.

Aseo: Sleep talking? Odd fellow eh?

Serenity glares at Aseo which he stares back and shrugs.

Aseo: Meh.

Sabrina: Yeah yeah, now let's decide on who is going to help watch Hitome, Tsubaki, and...Seren.

Zerc: Well it's clear that where ever Hitome goes Seren might go also. Not to mention Seren hates you Sabrina and Aseo. So Syras will watch them while either of you two can watch Tsubaki.

Aseo: Two? What about-

Zerc: She's already watching you. Brina can watch Tsubaki.

Nyu: Eh? But he's old enough to take care of himsel-

Nyu pauses and looks at Aseo throwing glass from Joey's damaged car.

Aseo: What?

Nyu: Point taken. Stop playing with that glass or you'll cut yourself!

Aseo walks back holding his finger as blood trickles down his hand.

Nyu: Why do you insist I baby you and not the opposite way around?

Aseo: Stop yelling at me! I got an ouchie!

Zerc: Lol.

Nyu sighs and pulls a bandaid out of her purse.

Nyu: There. All better.

Aseo: Will you kiss it to heal faster?

Nyu: Don't push it Aseo.

Zerc: Aseo, you missed a piece on the seat.

Aseo looks at the glass on the seat and walks over to it. Nyu snatches him away from the car and takes a deep breath.

Nyu: Aseo! Why in the world would you play with something that you know will injure you?! Why are you always-

Aseo: Stop!

Nyu looks speechlessly at Aseo.

Aseo: He was just kidding.

Aseo pulls a piece of paper from the backseat and shows it to Nyu.

Nyu: You two have the oddest way of joking around.

Zerc: Yet you're still allowing yourself to baby him, seems to be a reason there eh?

Sabrina: Yeah yeah, flirty goodness. Can we just get these three some place to rest? You three can talk while doing so later.

Nyu turns away annoyed while Zerc and Aseo laugh.

Nyu: Why do I even bother...?

Aseo: Because you know I'm the master chief of everything awesome.

Nyu: What?

Aseo: I'm the heavenly space duck.

Nyu: The purpose of these names are because?

Aseo: I dunno.

Sabrina: Stop talking so the scene can cut!

Zerc: Nice way of breaking the 4th wall. Now the readers will know you want to start a new chapter which will start out with you saying something that's not important and me doing something you could have had Aseo do before the scene ended and allowed the reader to believe the event happened before reading the next page.

Aseo: Yeah! Wait what?

Zerc: ...yeah let's cut it off here...Aseo has a brain fart and needs cookies to focus.

Aseo: Yay! I gets a cookie!

Sabrina places her hand on her face and walks to her car.
