OPIS PO POLSKU JEST TUTAJ!ENG:
And here's a brilliant idea that was born in my head some time after the first posters of Winx Club seaon 8 appeared. Bloom and Flora outfits literally screamed: space, motives from the future and... Jetsons! Ah! That is so brrrrrrilliant!
I promised myself to draw all six in the style of this cartoon, as soon as their new transformation designs show up. Especially since Rainbow has changed the animation style for this season, so I was even more convinced to draw Cosmix in yet another version. Who would have thought that last year's drawing exercises in the style of Monster High, Disney and W.i.t.c.h. (of which I haven't post anything yet, sorry) encouraged me to try this style as well.
The huge desire to draw the whole thing at once started when the design of Stella's costume appeared along with Flora's redesigned dress (of course that was just three incomplete Winx so I had my hands tied up). So the first sketch and one of the six characters was ready for several weeks. Maybe that's why out of them all here, I like Stella the best, in my eyes she looks the most beautiful. At the time Stella was ready, Bloom and Flora were sketched, but they did not have shoes. Later, when the next promotional picture appeared on which the Bloom shoe design was revealed, the desire returned, so I finished her a few days ago. Funny that at the time I wrote on WinxBlogger that I want to see the other girls in their full Cosmix so I can draw them, because in the following days not only part of Layla's appearance appeared (totally whitewashed) but also Musa and Tecna and everyone in full glory ONE DAY! I know at that time there was a festival in Rome and Winx was part of it, but anyway... before I blinked all the Cosmix designs were shown to the world.
So I as soon as I saw them I started working on them, so:
a) I'm not overtaken with an idea, because it's logical that I couldn't be the only person who wouldn come up with the idea of connecting Winx to Jetsons... unless no one else in the winx community, but me, remembers, or doesn't know Jetsons,
b) I don't suddenly loose willingness to draw this, which would result in drawing and posting it not sooner than a few months later, or worse, more than a year later, as the craze for a new transformation would already expire.
So, yes, this is my most recent work which cools down since morning. And luckily it's finally here. Feast your eyes on its warmth and freshness... because the next pieces you will see will be most lickely stale and cold, because they were drawn even a year and a half ago!
About the picture... I am glad that it is ready. It was nice to go back to Jetsons, I don't remember most of the episodes, but the cartoon in my opinion was nice. Especially the 'Rockin' with Judy Jetson' movie is my most beloved part of this series, the best movie from this series. As much as I don't remember the tv show well, that movie was awesome. I tried to stick close to the style of this animation and I also wanted to simplify their clothes a bit, as Cosmix has a lot of details. Too much for a television cartoon from... 60's!
Okay, where was I... ah yes, the clothes. I have simplified them a little, but eventually kept a lot of details (not counting the wings, which are much more simple here). By the way, trying to keep this old style, I used only the base colors without shadows, although I hesitated over even leaving the simple shadows. Since on promotional pictures, usually there were some shadows, and the last full-length animated Jetson movie that I remember had shadows. But it seems to me that without the shadows it looks even more Jetson-ish and nostalgic (read: my laziness won, so there are no shadows).
Oh, and I know that Winx in Cosmix don't have painted stars on their cheeks, but I've added that myself, as a tribute to the movie 'Rockin' with Judy Jetson', where Judy and her friends in stage costumes had similar star make up. Wait till we see Winx in Cosmix singing 'Gleep Glorp' on the space scene.
By the way, during the process, a few new concepts related to Winx and the cartoon style of Hanna Barbera, came to my mind, so there's a possibility that this might continue. At first there was an idea to try with the other transformations that will appear in Season 8. You know, draw them in the Jetsons style, and even do some Flintstone bonus... but Sirenix, for example, doesn't really scream: Jetsons (but I know that it would look out of this space!), more like: the Little Mermaid, and Enchantix and Butterflix: fairies from Peter Pan. But we also have transformations from 'World of Winx' which has Peter Pan in it... Oh my Yzma! My creative juices are bubbling! I want to create it all!! Or for now just one part, because I don't know if I'll be able to do half of the ideas. Let me know if you would like to see the next transformations from season 8 in this future-space style. You will definitely see them in classic Winx drawn by other artist from the Winx community, so maybe you would like me to try different approaches on those fairy forms.

This is adorable. I particularly like how Aisha, Tecna, and Musa look in this style.
