The first question that arises when looking at the title of the cover is – why ziggurats? And what is Xenopolis? Let me answer the second question first.

Xenopolis is a city-state formed at the junction of the borders of Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. The city is owned by the world tech giant Xenos Industries. Xenopolis became a desirable destination for both the elite (due to its location, ecology, and pleasant conditions created by the city's mayor, Matt Hallis), and for the simple working class. The city needed workers. Human rivers flowed into Xenopolis.

What is a Ziggurat? This is a tower used for religious ceremonies. It served as an invitation to the gods to come down to earth. It was a tower, like a multi-layered cake. Perhaps the most famous ziggurat is the Tower of Babel. According to legend, people in those days spoke the same language, and they agreed to build a ziggurat straight to the heavens. And then, God punished them for their pride by forcing people to speak many languages so that they would no longer understand each other. And, unable to agree, they did not finish their work. Instead, they settled in different lands.

Xenopolis, like ancient Babylon, absorbed people from many lands. They speak many languages, but understand each other. In their pride, they erected their main ziggurat - the Xenos Tower - in the center of the city. Will God punish Xenopolis and its inhabitants? Or maybe the hammer of God has already been raised?
