Description For a more detailed explanation on the Battle Plan, please consult the discussion found here: [link]

Anyway, the main reason I quickly cobbled this up is twofold: 1) To give people an easy form to fill out instead of having to guess; and 2) So I can compare stats a lot quicker than previously.

Otherwise, I hope it's mostly self-explanatory. If not, I'll try to whip out a sample or something.

UPDATE: 8 July 2008 - Made additional changes to the sheet to clarify it a little bit.

Sadly when I have to fill this out it'll be through MS paint with a laptop it won't be pretty! I'm going to put off filling it out until my first match is announced just cuz that sounds like such a total nightmare......

Question real quick to review(and I know I could probably find the answer if I actually went and looked....)

1) Do special abilities and items have a point cap? Last time I was only able to use 1 instead of the allowed 2 since my stats were a bit funky

2) You can use 2 S.A.'s and 1 item per fight, correct?

Well, if it's quicker - you can just type in your battle plan and turn it in that way. It makes things a bit longer for me, but whatever.

1) Special moves and items have NO point cap this time... or at least for now. Uriah does like to yank people's chain.

2) 1 Special and 1 type of Item per battle. However, if you have two items (like say a Mace and a Shield) you can use both of them during a battle, but only once for each... and not in the same turn.

*has hers planned*

My characters will do the same thing first battle no matter what ehe. XD Anywho, question about special moves, do we choose and you decide where or.. Do we just say 'Use a special' and you decide what or... GRAH confusing. ||D

You mark which move you want to be a special and write down what kind of move. Simple as that.

Why are the stats repeated? would we really have to fill out the character's stats five times? or are they there to circle which stats are getting put into the move?

I'm guessing that the Move checkbox is there to indicate that we're using one of the special moves, yes?

And one more question, because I'm pesky that way. Last MP I remember that we had to submit our battle plans before we knew who our opponent was, at least in the first round.

And I remember thinking that this was odd, because no fighter is going to approach every opponent the same way. Strategy against, say, Blaze or Aagron is going to be waay different than strategy against maybe Rath, or Zace. Y'know?

So the question would be, is this our call to submit our battle plans now? Or can it wait until our match is announced? (I do see the lack of a deadline above, so I'm hoping it's the second option.)

1) Nope - just circle/highlight which two stats you want to use for each move.

2) The move is to indicate if you're using a special move or not. Only mark it and write in what type of move if you're using a special move. Otherwise, leave it blank.

3) I'm thinking I'm going to tell the players when they are playing at the same time, so while it isn't quite "announced," it can be up to the player to decide for themselves how to fight.

You can start submitting your plans any time you like, but once you are called upon it, you have but only a week to complete it.

I'd like to know WHO I'm fighting, though, even if it's not general knowledge.

I mean, no one's going to walk blind into a room thinking, "no matter who/what's in there, I'm gonna do THIS". They're going to see what they're dealing with, then evaluate strategy, unless they're a one-trick pony.

You mean like...

Plan A: Spit nuts at everyone who isn't me

Plan B: Spit nuts at everyone who I am not.

Plan C: Target all besides myself and spit nuts at them.

Or, say, Blaze:

Swing axe, hit target. Target still moving?
--Yes: Hit again.
--No: Done.
Repeat as necessary.

This is why rule by committe results in everything having to be signed in triplicate.
