Never watched this show, even once. Β I suppose because by the time I was a little kid, it was already into re-runs.It was only on tv from 70-74 I believe, so most of you younger folks probably don't even know what this show is!
(and to be honest, I don't really know either, I just know it was about a musically talented family who had a bus.)

I love this show! My dad loved it when he was growing up, and we've recently gotten back into watching it. I like this idea, too: the Bus as a Transformer. Nicely done!

The series was a light family comedy based very loosely on a real life popular singing family.Β Although it would seem excessively tame by modern standards, it was popular at the time because it reassured viewers that younger generation and older generation and liberal (heavily editted for TV) and conservative (heavily editted for TV) could manage to get along in a family despite their differences.Β These days, the unapologetic optimism and the lack of gratutious irony in the series are what most fascinate modern viewers, few of whom are used to watching any honestly optimistic television series and none of whom can remember a time when a cynically defensive irony was not lathered over everything in television and film.
