Description
Because I un-deliberately started a small series, I figured I'd finish it, by drawing all three of my main OC's (as created in the costume creator in the City of Heroes game).Here are Mysterious Mike and Lucky Liam:
Tools:
Pencils: Derwent B pencil on A3 Fabriano drawing paper.
Digital coloring: Wacom Intuos 3 in Paint Shop Pro 9.
No specific reference used.

I like the freckles and that they're placed naturally and not in some perfect and pretty pattern...
I think the hair is a bit off... Color wise, and it could just be since it's purple it's going to automatically seem a bit fake? but I just don't think the hair is colored on par with the face. Unfortunately I have no good tips on how to improve it.

Aye, I agree on the hair part. Dee's hair has always been a struggle for me. I should have made her blonde. That would make it much easier in making it look natural

Dee's hair is supposed to be Pink though
Mike wears Blue, Dee wears Pink, and Liam wears a mix of those colors; Purple.

You know, I knew it was pink, I knew all the arts I've ever seen of her it is pink... this piece though has an overall darker tone and though and standing on it's own it does look purple to me. Throw it in with a bunch of other Darth arts though and it wouldn't look out of place, it would just be the darker tone. *shrug*

If you see Liam and Dee next to each other... do you still see Dee's hair as purple?

Thinking on it, I think purple is just an odd and situational color... By this I mean that as a hair color I would (and did) call this color purple. If it had been a piece of clothing though I do not think I would have chosen purple. Maybe I'd have actually gone with magenta or such, but as clothing purple should be... well, purple! Like Royal Purple. Yet if royal purple was used as a hair color I think I'd almost definitely refer to it as a dark blue or even blue/black...
Hmm, then again maybe I'm just warped from my Punk Rock days in the mid eighties to nineties and who some of my friends called their hair colors... *shrug*

Perhaps we should just conclude that it's a wig, which she wears as part of her super-disguise? The perfect evenness of her bangs has always struck me as artificial.

The backstory is that she's a mutant, born with pink hair (aside from abilities of course). She was bullied a lot for it too, when she was younger and tried to fit in.
