Description
My version of Megatron that is a cross between his G1 appearance and his current IDW appearance. I like how it turned out personally. I made this to go with the spirit of the current IDW comic book run of Transformers: Lost Light. That is where I got the title for the image from if you were curious.

Personally, I would like to thank Livio Ramondelli for giving me the inspiration to continue to improve and try new things with my artwork to see what kinds of results I can come up with and how to make a good picture better. He's one of the best comic book artists I've seen and personally the only one I actually know and talk to sometimes. Though without his artwork to look over and the books I have that he's illustrated, I don't know if I would have gone the direction I've been going with the steady improvements to my Transformers artworks. I don't know if I can ever do what he does, though I would be able to die a happy man just to have one of my images be included in an issue of a Transformers comic someday. Even if it's just one of those splash art images that you find in the back of Trade Paperback collections. Not holding my breath on it though... Though it is something I often dream of as a hope or goal. I love the Transformers and I love drawing them (Especially Megatron if you have not noticed), I've loved them since I was 5 years old and the show was brand new in the U.S. and they have been a part of my life ever since. To maybe one day make something that would be printed in an issue would be something I never would have expected growing up... Though as an adult now, I've put so much time and work into improving myself and my art. Just in the hopes of being maybe noticed one day with it. Not to be hired on as a panel artist, I don't think I'm that good. But I would LOVE doing cover arts or just splash art images for the books perhaps. Just as a freelancer. It would be something that I would forever be proud of and I think it would actually cause me to cry from happiness. I've not done that in so many years I can't remember the last time to be honest. But with all the amazing artists out there who do this kind of work, some better, some less so, It's hard to be seen in the sea of images that are done every day. But just meeting one of my favorite artists and being able to become friends is something that I never would have expected either... So maybe hope and continued work and effort may pay off one day. It's worth it to at least try I feel.

I hope you enjoy this picture. It's one of my favorite images of Megatron that I sketched out about a year or two ago and forgot about utnil earlier this week. Found it in an old USB and started working on it again. Though how I am happy I have learned how to do so much more than I could back then. So I kinda had to re-do all my old line work before even starting the shading and color. THis was very much work of effort to get it how I wanted. But it turned out better than I could have hoped honestly.
