I always wondered how japanese can take the manga seriously. I mean, if you tried to do that with names in english... "Hi, my name is Meow!" lol

I'm just pointing out that is seems Japan has more of a tolerance for this kind of thing. If the american version of Naruto aired with the names translated, I seriously doubt it'd be as popular as it is.

Most names mean something weird. I mean how many anglo saxon names are derivitave of flowers and rocks. Just used to it is all.

True, but are japanese names derivatives or the actual word? I'm pretty sure you can order naruto in a resteraunt. Bah, doesnt matter. Good art is good art eh?

Complete awesomeness! 'Tis an instant fave. Gaara means "I love death", "I love a demon", or, used in the actual anime, "the demon that loves only himself", from what I've researched.

Hinata means "toward the sun", "Kiba" is the sound effect used for knashing fangs, "Shino" is the sound effect used for skittering bugs, and Kakashi means "ScareCrow"!
