Hopefully once (and more importantly, IF) they make it into the reboot, they'll appear in more episodes than they did in the original series.

Reasons for why I believe they are such fan faves is because they are perfect foils to the girls. When you look at some of the most popular villains, notably in comics, some of the most popular villains are those who contrast their heroes, such as Magneto, Venom, Loki. Also helps that they were actual matches for the girls, plus that they are boy counterparts to the girls for the male audience who enjoys the show as well.
