Magica, her shadow form, and her the shadow magic is all a homage or reference to that one-time Old Ducktales episode, "Magica's Shadow War" where she gave life to her own shadow to steal the #1 Dime.

I was 'mind-blown' when I learned Lena is actually Magica's shadow. In the Original episodes, Magica's Shadow has it's own conscious and personality, and become disobedient toward Magica.
But it a bit confusing, Scrooge locked away Magica's body but her shadow remain, become solid flesh-and-blood form which is Lena but Magica's conscious lives in Lena's shadow.
So is Lena and Magica are one in the same shadow like dual split-personality? Magica's Shadow form is a shadow-of-a-shadow?

Seeing Donald Duck being a badass fighting duck reminds me of Kingdom Hearts though I never played the game.
Maybe Ducktales 2017 is dimensional linked to the Kingdom Heart universe.

Della is alive. But I thought she'd be much deep in space. How is she still alive after a decade since she crashed on the moon? Wouldn't Scrooge already found her.

1. I think it's like a Horcrux thing. A Horcrux that doesn't know it is a Horcrux. Lena is part of Magica's soul, but in time she became more than that, an own person. But her original, Magica form still remains as her shadow, to remind her of her purpose.

Also I like to think Lena is based on Magica's more innocent, teenage self, when she was still quite a normal kid.

2. Yes, Badass Donald is something I was waiting for YEARS. So many sources nowdays treats him like a punching bag.

3. Della is alive on the moon, cause...magic, I guess? I'm more concerned how Selene (Godess of the MOON) didn;t know one of her best friends was there. She is quite bad at her job.
As for Scrooge - I bet he was searching. But Moon is really big, and all of in is a empty, lifeless desert. It's like looking for just one, specyfic fish in the ocean.
