Page 9 is basically my characters talking about and showcasing 's works. The top panel is her part drawing Cyril fangirling over Jade + Jin as elementary school kids; I thought her art style would be perfect to depict them. The bottom panel is me converting one of her very old contest entries (DHC2 ) into a fictitious movie poster, titled "Kingdom of Gold;" sounds like it'd be a Chinese action film. I think her art style improved a lot (see 1st panel), don't you? In any case, that entry was inspired by a Chinese movie poster, so this fits perfectly. Contest entry used with permission.
Fun fact: Jin's name in Chinese means "gold."
Oh look, Valerie from 's story appears again. I bet she has another table to attend to.
In the bottom panel of page 10, Cyril canonizes a shipping term readers and I use in conversation, but it'll now be canon in Demon Hunters, though Cyril implies she's been using this term for a long while in story. I thought about showing how Cyril imagines the Dominade ship (Dom x Jade), and I remembered DHC4 had a whole lot of Dominade ship entries. Unfortunately, I couldn't find many of my contestants online, but I remembered there was one by She still streams on Twitch, and I was able to ask her for permission to embed the entry. Hers is unique because it looks like a shoujo anime, perhaps Cyril has a bit of that interested hidden in her tomboyish self, and shoujo seems like a good visual for shipping.
Anyways, Cyril is a proud Dominade shipper , feel free to edit that pic for any ship you'd like. I'm curious whether I could turn it into a meme.
