Quite nice. Those ldraw pieces are quite useful, are they not? I think though you could go quite far with a simple background for this piece. Maybe even going as far as building some hoth turrets out of lego and placing them in the scene as part of the background, that would be quite fitting if i do say so myself.

Also (though i'm not entirely sure) i think the plastic needs to be a little more reflective that its current state and maybe changing the shadow to an area type shadow would be quite nice as it would give that nice gradual fading that shadows cast by lights give.

Actually these aren't Ldraw pieces. The pieces were all created by hand. Still working on the plastic material, It's really hard to get that Lego feeling.

ouch.. at any rate you should have used them i guess, it would have made this process a lot faster. And yeah i can really sympathise with you on that lego plastic material. I've still yet to get the right feeling on my lego-related works and it really does take it's toll on time if your striving for perfection.
