Qymaen jai Sheelal (Later know as "Grievous") was originally a Kaleesh from the planet Kalee, where he lived his early life. During the Kaleesh conflict against the Huk, Qymaen jai Sheelal quickly learned the art of war, specializing in a slugthrower rifle. Quickly amassing a great number of Huk kills, he became a demigod among his people. He eventually met the female Kaleesh Ronderu lij Kummar, a master with the sword. The two became very close before her death at the hands of the Huk. Heartbroken, Qymaen jai Sheelal renamed himself Grievous and turned all his anger and grief toward the Huk. Aided by his elite, he forced the Huk off Kalee and then swarmed their homeworld, conquering the Huk.

Grievous has an awesome backstory, which is why I am a huge fan of the character. That, and his fighting style is simply mesmerizing to watch. This painting is an excellent depiction of the grief for which he renamed himself.

Great pic! Qymaen's tragic character is one of my favorite (along with Davy Jones). I love the fact that he was immortalized as a demigod amongst his own kind. And I just hate the movie and TCW-series depicting him as a cowardly opportunist.
I wonder did the jedi even try to find out the truth about the Huk war and how Qymaen and the kaleesh were wronged.

I think that he is only like that in movies and the TCW-series, because his brain is somehow damaged or the mechanical parts of him hinder him to be like his old self.

Very good! Not sure if there are tears for Grievous, given what little remains of his flesh, but his eyes are really all he has to express his emotions. Just those eyes to tell of his pain.. Yes, you got the torture of his muteness right.
I must say though, you are not very accurate about his story. His tragedy is deeper, more complex than what you made it look. Still a good work, I like the drawing.

Ouch! Right in the feels! Poor Qymaen. I'm still clinging to his original back-story. I can understand him being angry with the jedi/republic for siding with the Huk.
