Classic scene from "The Phantom of the Opera" on stage... always has me in tears...Anyway... I'll be honest. I'm not very happy with this drawing. The way I drew Erik's eyes and face just bothers me. I think I deviated away from how I usually draw him and it just... bothers me. But I decided to upload it anyway....

Oh yes, I saw Ant twice! Fantastic, bliddy fantastic. The final time I went I was sitting in the third row and I gave a standing ovation (you wouldn't believe how much a girl in a white dress stands out in the middle of a sea of seated elderly people). The curtain calls for this cast have been really long; the crowd can't get enough of it so I was standing up there for quite a while.

it's great standing out in a crowd of people... back in the day when i was uberly obsessed with phantom to the point of absolute abandonment of integrity, I dressed up in my phantom costume to see the show in saint louis. thank God no one knew me there... I got a few compliments, but mostly stares.

Eh...talked to him for about twenty seconds...made a fool of myself...haven't seen him since, duh... T-shirts aren't everything.

I look at this picture and I can hear the words so clearly, I have almost started to cry! I wouldn't change anyhting about this picture. I think he looks fine. Please know we all love your work. It doesn't matter what you post, we still love your work!

well, thanks! It's one of those things... I keep telling myself that there's nothing wrong with it, but still there is something... gaw. I should just forget about it. Artists can be very picky with their work, you know.

Yeah, same here. When I'm working on something, nothing seems that good. Then when I look at it after taking a break, it can seem a little better.

I just adore your PotO drawings. You always put so much detail into them (monkey music box, Erik's suit, what little we can glimpse of the deformity.) Not to mention the "awwww" factor.
I think Erik's eyes look fine. I wouldn't change them if I were you. The only possible difference I can see is they might be a bit shorter than you normally draw them.
Say, I DO have an observation: if NO ONE in your artistic universe has a nose, why would the absence of one be so traumatic for Erik? (wink)

the shortness is probably because when I draw someone really really sad looking, the eyebrows come down lower on the eye. that could be it...

Well, I was looking hard, TRYING to find some difference between the eyes in your other pieces and this one, and that was all I could come up with.
