//I promised myself I'd learn from Vitalis' ref and make this one shorter but,,, things happened lmao. At least it shouldn't be nearly as terrible and I plan on updating Vitalis' bio to be easier on the eyes. I just really wanted to get Fatalis' ref out since I've been sitting on it for A Long Time! It went under a revision recently, but still general same pose/outfit from the initial sketch I made a few years ago.

AU: UnderSoulios- an au set in an oriental period where monsters are yokai who live alongside humans and mages. Above them are deities, the beings who brought life to their world and ensure its survival.
Name: Fatalis
Nicknames: Fatal, Kubikajiri(font name), Kubi (by Eutemia)
Personality:
Cold and headstrong. Fatalis is overbearing, often times doing a task for another if he holds a connection to them. His aloof and pessimistic outlook on others guides him to a lonely life with little in the ways of support, and despite hating this, he does nothing to change. As his corruption festered, the soul traits that once formed Fatalis have also distorted, transforming him into the shell of who he once was. Those who look at him are met with a lifeless gaze, one that holds no particular feeling for the individual. It's almost as though his gaze searches through them, and sees nothing of value.
Fatalis naturally holds an intimidating aura, his towering statue reinforcing this. He's cynical of others intentions, and no longer holds belief in true kindness nor the value in it.

Soul:
The soul of a deity. Contains the attributes of Integrity, Justice, Patience and Determination. Corrupted by years of torment and betrayal, these traits have been molded into Dishonesty, Revenge and Apathy.
Justice and Integrity act as the heart-shaped bindings around the soul, while Determination acts as the 'roots' that seeps its energy into the entire soul. Frigid, ice shards surround the soul.
The soul acts as a 'seed', where upon death, the soul will embed itself into the earth. A sapling of a willow tree will form around the soul, acting as protection for the soul and strengthens it by draining the energy around the area using its roots.
Fatalis' growth is reflected by the willow tree. A sapling will result in a child Fatalis, and will continue to age until adulthood. While his soul is in the willow tree, a manifestation of his body cannot stray too far. When Fatalis no longer requires the support of the tree, his soul will slip out and manifest his true, physical appearance.

Strengths:
Insidious aura- Those in nearby range of Fatalis experience a discomforting effect. It's a stronger aura than his sister's that can have a fair impact on others. This comes in the form of enhancing his intimidation factor and making others want to keep away from him.
Reaper's touch- With Fall and Winter being the end of all things in the season, he holds little healing powers. Long exposure to his touch, when he has the intent, can freeze an individual to the bone.
Icestorm- Cold climates and snow/ice don't bother him. Easily attracted to cold areas, and seeks them out to cool his soul's mist.
Powerhouse- Powerful strength capable of blowing through most things through brute force alone.
Weaknesses:
Heat rush- Extremely weak to hot weather and fire attacks. He 'melts' under it. To counter this, Fatalis wears a thick fur cape and dense armor with an insulation filling naturally attuned to the cold when in warm areas.
Disheartened- Fatalis believes his only mission in life is to slaughter Vitalis in retribution for her betrayal to him, and to continue this cycle in their rebirths. Fatalis, himself, doesn't enjoy this cycle either- and yet he knows nothing but this, and is afraid of change.
Lost touch- Holds a deep-rooted contempt and hatred for himself. He knows he's in the wrong, and truly does wish to be in a better standing with his sister. Yet, he feels even if the cycle were to end, they couldn't rebuild the relationship they once had- not with everything he's done to her. He doesn't believe he deserves another chance.

Weapons / Powers:
Ice axe: Held in his wing hands, typically for long-range attacks. He can swing one axe and use the serrated edge to sink into an opponent to pull them towards him or break incoming projectiles.
Dual-bladed axe: Held in his hands and used for close-range attacks. The blade can be covered in ice that deal additional damage.
Ice breath: A standard attack that's more used for limiting his opponent's visuals than purely damaging.
Icicles: Can form ice shards or pillars that rise from the ground to attack opponents. Very in size.
Aurora Borealis Dome: A weaker form of his Kubikajiri's version, it's a smaller dome that can be more easily removed by elemental attacks.

Dishonesty- Corrupted blue magic. When activated, unlike blue magic, Fatalis can 'squeeze' his opponent's soul, causing a suffocating/heavy weight sensation that leaves his victim immobile.
Apathy- Corrupted cyan magic. When activated, Fatalis cannot be injured so long as he remains still. In addition, these attacks are reflected back at the target. This power drains Fatalis' magic overtime.
Vengeance- Corrupted yellow magic. When activated, acts as an amplifier to Fatalis' other powers so long as he feels wronged by the individual. Those he does not have a strong emotion for don't receive this effect.
Determination- Corrupted red magic. Akin to standard Determination, this grants Fatalis another shot at life from a death experience. Fatalis' body will dissipate, leaving his soul as the mist sealed inside will reverse the damage done through determination. Should the soul feel threatened, the soul will warp itself to a separate universe/location to distance itself from potential perma-death and allow him time to heal. However, through its corruption, every rebirth causes said corruption to deepen, causing his bones to turn black and his soul to darken over time. This naturally occurs slowly overtime, but death quickens the progress.

Outcode warp- The combination of his entire soul's power. Discovered upon Eutemia's initial death and his instincts telling him she was still alive, he used the combined force of his souls and a strong dose of determination to hunt her down. This allows him to traverse other aus, and unlike his sister, he is capable of doing it intentionally, but it greatly exhausts him.

- In the battle with his sister and upon her death at his hands, Fatalis will consume his sister. This is to strengthen his own soul, allowing him to continue pursuing her to alternate universes when her soul warps to one.
- Because of this, his body has never been reduced to a drastically weakened state as Vitalis, and has managed to maintain his stronger form.
- Fatalis is a decent cook, but does better when following a recipe. He follows things by the book, rarely adding his own spin unless he feels the original instructions weren't to his preference.
- Despite the cycle, a deep part of him still cares about his sister and hates what he's doing to her. Fatalis doesn't know how to break the cycle at this rate, and has come to accept it as a natural part of their lives.
- In his and Vitalis' time in their original au, he was extremely protective and possessive of his sister. He felt he was justified to, given his distrust of their dark masters and the people they were forced to serve.
- Fatalis doesn't see UnderSoulios with rose-tinted glasses as his sister does, and recognizes every flaw and corruption- however, this comes to a pessimistic degree.
