Very good; digging the detail. My only critique is that you could perhaps have erased the sketch lines that run across his face, but it doesn't ruin the piece - just something to consider for next time.

yeah, my sketches' lineart is usually all on the same layer from start to finish so the lines would have to stay unless i went about finishing it with a pen tool

No problem! It doesn't spoil the piece, so no worries. I would say, however, that when you get used to working with multiple layers, you'll wonder how you ever did without them; there was a time when I thought "Why would you ever make drawing so difficult for yourself?". Funny what you get used to.
