An intense journey, for the viewer, and, I imagine, for the artist, as well. Just... wonderful. I'm going to have to give this repeated viewings, to begin to digest. Bravo, Matthew, Bravo. Cheers, Roger

how long did it take you to become that good?

Thank you, and I'm flattered that you think I'm 'that good'; but, I would probably never admit to being so. I have been drawing on and off for the majority of my life. I honestly believe that most people can do what I do or better, given the time, patience, and of course - inspiration!

I am so impressed by this, you have no idea. The patience it must have taken you alone is enough to make my jaw drop. The result is amazing, obviously.

I love this kind of art. Reminds me of a drawing my friend did of that Santana album cover.

This is amazing with all the details you added!
May I ask how long it took for you to finish the whole image? )
I never would have such patience for such tiny details myself

Thank you! I worked on it -bit by bit- over the course of a year. I'm not quite sure how I had the patience either.

I think this is really cool, all the detail, the fact that you did it freestyle... all that stuff, but I can't figure out where the elephant fits in? I don't see one in there? Am I missing something?

darwink In reply to MindfullyArtistic [2011-05-16 05:48:03 +0000 UTC]
I could point them out, but that would be cheating...
Elephants are the inspiration to the piece, however, it is an abstract drawing so you probably won't find an actual elephant as you might perceive it in reality. Keep an eye out for tubular things (trunks) and pointy things (tusks). That's all the help I can give you...

okay, i was kinda on the right track then...my spouse and i stared at this for nearly an hour- and we gave up and decided i'd write- my best conclusion was that i could see trunks here and there and tusk looking designs... i was looking i guess full body- and i shouldn't have been
