The eggs of a Volcano Dragon survive thousands of years.
Laid near a volcano the young dragons hatch once the volcano erupts and the eggs reach the right temperature through lava that flows past. After hatching the young dragons enjoy their first bath in the lava flow :3
Because someone asked me about parental care:
Volcano Dragons can sense the eruption of the volcano where their eggs are.
When the time comes and this volcano erupts they return and make sure that the eggs are close enough to a lava flow.
After hatching they keep distance, so the hatchlings grow up mostly independent.
But in case of great danger in which the young dragons begin to scream with audio frequencies that only other dragons can hear,
their parents will follow that scream to protect their children.
