I LOVE Jazz Jackrabbit Advance! I haven't played the original or its sequel, but I'm playing through the GBA one right now, and it's definitely one of my favorite platformers on the console!
This is some fantastic artwork! Awesome job!

Well, if you don't like JJR advance, I wonder why you draw it xD anyway, nice picture. JJR forever! (It still runs on windows 7 )

I don't like JJR Advance as a game, but I madly adore JJR as a character and old DOS-games about him!!! ^_^ That's why I draw!
Thank you very much for the comment!
P.S. About Windows 7: is it a question? XD I dunno, I'm still with WinXP And I use DOS Box - it's a perfect emulator for all old DOS-games

No it wasn't a question actually, it just amazes me that the game is so badass that it still runs on the newest windows releases xD!!

Jazz Jackrabbit is pretty unoriginal, but the games are some of my favorites.

He's unoriginal as a character in general or he's unoriginal on my pic? Well, if not, there's nothing strange: I tried to save the details from the game, slightly adding something very own, and he doesn't have to be very original

Unoriginal as a game (but it is still awesome.) Bucky O'hare seems to be Epic's main source of imitation. Your pic is awesome, BTW.

Oh, you're absolutely right here. I think they took pretty much from Bucky O'hare. BTW, Bucky is one of my fave games too
Thanks

What?? Why?? :S I think it was very original in its style and mood.. JJR is awesome!

He is awesome. I'm just saying green, armed rabbits have been done before. So has the buzz-saw speed jump. Epic just put in a ton of elements from many games and made a completely awesome original-unoriginal game.

Well maybe because I grew up with it, Jazz is the game that is uncomparable with other games. You could give me Sonic the Hedgehog or Mario, I'd still go for JJR2 so.. I'm not doubting you might be right.

Yeah, JJA sucked. It was so boring >>
But lovely redraw ^^
The original JJ games were the best. I remember when I was little, I'd always play the level "Diamondus" over and over. It was great and I love those Alice in Wonderland parody levels in JJ2

Ahahah, me too! What a nice coincidence! I loved Diamondus so much as well! *shakes your hand*
So great memories... Ah...
I wish JJ3D was released... But it will never be, unfortunately...

*hand shaken* I used to love the music in Diamondus as well. Used to get stuck in my head. When I was little and I played JJ, the Medivo levels used to scare me though
The Christmas levels with the giant blue bulldogs were epic. So much fun <3
Same here. I used to play it for hours on end
Me too. I've played the demo version of JJ3D, and it seems pretty awesome. Well, maybe one day they'll remember and find a publisher for it, and it'll be released ^^ but for now I can only hope. It'd be awesome anyways.

Aha! I think I have somewhere on an old CD those games about Jazz, and I'm going to play them, maybe, soon... With DOS emulator, of course! XDD
Have you finished played all games about Jazz?
I also was a fanatic of JJ2. And I remember, I played much even in additional fan-made levels downloaded from the net ^_^
*sighs* Yeah, JJ3D was great... But you're right: we can only hope... T_T

I need a DOS Emulator too. I kind of miss my good old Windows '95, it played all those awesome games perfectly.
Yup ^^
It was great. Spaz and Lori were pretty cool, and the levels, weapons, story, special moves, music and characters were awesome. I used JCS heaps to make my own levels and tilesets. That was pretty fun, but it took a lot of time and it could get frustrating at times.
Well, one day, maybe one day..that'd be awesome ^w^

Awesome yeah, they sure were. I'd spend soooo long creating levels. I remember when I first started using JCS, I'd make the crappiest of levels. After a while I got okay at it, but I don't think I'll ever be as good at it as all the other people who posted their levels on the JJ2 wbsite 'n stuff.

Oh, BTW, I've just remembered... Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Secret Files turned me into a fanatic of Dean Dodrill, the animator of that game and creator of Lori. And now he's one of the most favourite artists I can put in my "fave painters" list ^_^

Yeah, Dean is really cool, I love his drawings. And Elsyian Tale looks sooo awesome *wants it* I dunno if it's come out yet, but if it has or when it does, I am sooo getting it!

Me too! Dean doesn't write when it would be released, but he's planning to make a game about Elysian Tail! Check this out on his official web-site! - [link] Oh, the game is fabulous! I fell in love

I played the GBA version, but it can't beat the second game. If they wanted him to drive a spaceship, why not introduce him to the StarFox team and give him an Arwing.

Tragley [2009-05-30 15:23:16 +0000 UTC]
I didn't even know he had a game for the GBA but I have to say I like his old design better. When they re-designed him, they should've at least kept somewhat true to his previous design. If you change a characters design too drastically, it pretty much seems like a new character all together. I mean when Sonic & was re-designed, you could at least still tell it was him.

dashassfrost In reply to Tragley [2009-06-01 11:07:06 +0000 UTC]
Me too. I don't know who's is designer of that GBA version, but I always liked Dean Dodrill's old arts much more than this new style.
I mostly agree with you, but...
Wait, about Sonic. As far as I remember, it was always easy to recognize Sonic, cos most changes in his appearance were local changes of his boots XD So I think Sonic has lost not very much of his individuality I think so.
But situation with Jazz Jackrabbit... Aaaargh... Pity.
