With drawn sword, Asterith charges over the mass of dead Gargers towards those that still stand around her knight Odo. The bodies are either mangled by Odo's blades or pierces by Asterith's arrows. Numerous members of this reptilian regiment remain to be slain, however.

(Someone recently confirmed my feeling that there is an unsatisfactory gap in my 'Expectant' visual story between the fighting climax and the epilogue. I thought I ought to add a few scenes to show how our heroes get out of this one. Plus I don't seem able just yet to depict what's happening to Asterith in the last part of 'The Blackguard', which is very dark, and which might actually have to become a third story in itself)

Wonderful story. Both in short meanings and images. Oddly timeless yet placed due to clothing, chivalery and beast. It'll be intresting to read the rest when and if it comes.

It doesn't seem as clean and crisp as others you have drawn, but it is still far beyond anything I could hope to do myself. Based on the skill you have displayed in earlier works, I have to say this seems a bit of a step backwards. Still I could not hope to match it, and it's still very good.

I'm all for the "third story" idea. That has all kinds of good-sounding promise to it. 
I believe I can see the incorporation of a certain "look" given to Asterith's eyes here--after staring at a few reference photos for a long time a month ago, those eyes still stick with me.
