Daddy, the Kaiju keep bullying me.
Mum, dad! Where did you go? Why did you leave me? I’m scared…

Headcanon: Because Sasha and Aleksis have been battling in a Mach 1 Jaeger, there were problems caused by radiation poisoning, making Sasha unable to bear children. They became very attached to their job and their Jaeger, eventually having the “most stable Neural Handshake" (wikia). The war became their lives and they considered the Cherno Alpha their child.

The piece features the two holding the Cherno Alpha as if they were holding the child they couldn’t have. The bond between the two was extended to the machine as it was the closest thing they could have to a family.

I was going to attempt making Cherno Baby a lot more damaged, but I just couldn’t bring myself to the task. They are far too pretty to recreate the destruction.
