Description A day late, but hopefully still acceptable! DA did NOT want to work for me yesterday D:
I know wild horses don't typically bow...but I thought it would be a nice bit of flair.

Peering down from a dune Solomon almost didn't catch the glint of gold that told of another soul in the desert. The stallion could tell the other creature was out of place and lost, dragging a large frame through the sand as sweat dripped down her protruding ribs.

With a friendly whinny the slate stallion trotted down the dune towards the foreigner. As he grew closer he caught the scent of the mare, and picked up his knees more, showing off .

The mare pinned her ears at Solomon. He froze, having no interest in having this strange mares teeth in his neck or hooves in his side. She was larger then the stallion and even weakened as she seemed there was no doubt she could do some serious damage.

Solomon nickered and continued to approach carefully. “You look lost.” He offered

The mare snorted, “You're a smart one aren't you.”

For a moment the stallion was agitated. He was only trying to help! Clearly this mare needed food and water.

“I can help.” He offered. One of the mare's ears swiveled forward for a moment, but quickly flipped back again.

“Really,” Solomon continued earnestly, “You're stronger then me, even in this state. I won't chase you, if you'll only follow I can take you somewhere with water.”

The mare's dry tongue licked her cracked lips “Fine. But if you try and trick me-!”

“No, no, nothing like that. I'm Solomon by the way.”

“Maybe I'll tell you my name after we find this water.” Clearly this mare was all business.

The spotted mare had squeezed herself into an open space between the ferns and bramble. She preferred the small hidden space to the open side of the oasis, it was a good hiding spot. Here nothing could sneak up on her and she would be able to keep an eye on whatever other animals arrived to the clear waters.

It was not long after Moscato had gotten comfortable that two silhouettes appeared on the horizon. Making sure she was hidden the mare watched as the couple approached. If she tried to leave she would be seen, it would be better if she just quietly observed. The leader was slate, with a coat pattern much like her own. The second large but thin and obviously exhausted and starved. The scent that carried over the oasis was of both a mare and a stallion.

The golden mare froze as the sent and sight of the oasis hit her at once. Though not large, the cyan reservoir was surrounded by luscious green plants. Unbelieving she stared at Solomon who had turned at the edge of the poo.

“Eat and drink your fill. Your beauty will only grow as you recover.”

With an enormous effort the golden mare broke into a canter and lept into the waters. The splash made rainbows in the air, dazzling the golden mare as she gained her footing.

Moscato shied back and hid herself behind a thicker bush. Who were these two, causing a ruckus in her quiet corner of desert. She pinned her ears as she peeked around the trunk of a date tree.

“T-thank you. This place is magnificent” the golden mare mumbled at Solomon, “My name is Orchid.”

The stallion just smiled as he lowered himself into the pool of water. This was progress. He would let Orchid be for now, to enjoy the oasis and hopefully heal from her travels. It would not be difficult for him to watch for danger, most who came to the oasis remained peaceful anyways. Solomon would keep Orchid safe for as long as she would let him

So the stallion had led the mare here, probably hoping to persuade her to stay with him. Smart move.

Though she generally preferred to exist alone, Moscato was impressed by this stallion. Instead of chasing about the half dead draft he had enticed her with what she needed most. Perhaps Moscato herself could benefit from being around this slate stallion. She would have to watch this couple carefully for a few days, perhaps if the stallion continued to prove he wasn't an idiot she would introduce herself.
