Description
Grey:Name: Kaliem (Kal-eem), aka, Kal, Kal-Kal, Kally, Lemur
Sex: Male
Breed: Fancy, probably with a good dose of Feral somewhere.
Age: Five
Owner(s): Cadell family, mostly Xiomara (See-o-mara)
Personality: The opposite of his ‘brother’, Kaliem is a big, impatient, and playful creature. His energy is boundless and at a massive four foot two and a full twelve feet long, even the laws of physics, and fences, have trouble stopping the orange and grey mass.
Bio: Kaliem was also rescued by ‘No More a Roving’, but at the healthy age of two. Found in an abandoned apartment, Kaliem was lucky the landlord had a soft heart and called NMaR instead of shooting him.
Lucky for the volunteers Kaliem was already head over heels in love with every single person of the human population. However, as he continued to grow, Kal’s love became more of a burden. He was soon the biggest creature in the building, strongest too.
It was determined that he would have to be put down after he broke loose and proceeded to wreak havoc in every room of the three story building. But Mercedes couldn’t give up on the giant. Therefore, she took him in for ‘extra training’.
And thus came home the second of the Cadell’s icarathians.
At first Maleki entirely ignored Kal, no matter how much love he tried to show. However, as he adjusted Maleki finally accepted the bright orange presence. Finally, the two icars became brothers of sorts. Not in the way that they love each other to death, in the way that they constantly pick at each other and drive their family insane, but in a good way. Mostly.
Blue: Name: Maleki (mal-a-ki), aka Kai, Kai-Kai, Maley, O-Malley, O-Malley the Ally Cat
Sex: Male
Breed: Fancy
Age: Eight
Owner(s): Cadell family, mostly Xiomara (See-o-mara)
Personality: Maleki is really quite small for a Fancy Icarathian, at only three and a half feet tall and a total body length of a measly eight feet. Combined with his quiet and patient demeanor the fellow could be easily mistaken for a balding, yet colorful, Polar.
Even more evidence of the switched body, is Maleki’s shyness. He’s not one for strangers, whether man or beast, and hides under a table or a bed when the family has parties or friends over.
Bio: Maleki was rescued at just a few weeks by the Cadell family’s rescue program, ‘No More a Roving’. Though he received the best care possible, he just never seemed to get as big as the other icars at the facility. Because he never got big, Maleki was never adopted. After watching him stay homeless for nearly two years Mercedes Cadell finally brought him home to the family, where at first there were objections to keeping a young icarathian with an eleven year old daughter in the house, the argument soon died out. Maleki and Zee were attached at the hip. All that summer the two spent exploring the woods behind their big house, learning about each other and teaching one another how to behave.
All was perfect in Maley’s life, until Kaliem arrived. Soon the two icars became brothers of sorts. Not in the way that they love each other to death, in the way that they constantly pick at each other and drive their family insane, but in a good way. Mostly.
Owner stuff:
Name: Xiomara(See-O-mara) Cadell, aka Xi
Sex: Female
Age: 17
Parents: Mercedes Cadell, her mother who’s head vet for their rescue program. She has a soft spot for icars, and was the main reason for the adoption of Maleki and Kaliem.
Gavin Cadell is her Father. The founder of ‘No More a Roving’, a local (but growing!) animal rescue program, Gavin is an important person in the community. Named for his favorite poem, ‘No More a Roving’ specializes in taking stray animals from the streets and rehabilitating them for life with a loving home.
Personality:
Bio: Zee was born in Spain, but her family moved away whenXie was still in diapers. She remembers nothing about Spain but the warm sun coming in through the bamboo shades in a house by the beach. She doesn’t remember whose house it was, just that it was a house…
The family settled easily in America, Mr. Cadell teaching Spanish at a local high school for a good enough wage, and Mrs. Cadell staying home with Xiomara until the little girl started school.
When she was eight her father finally fulfilled his dream of owning an animal rescue. From then on, neither of Xi’s parents are home much anymore, but she does fine on her own, caring for her grades and pets herself.
Really just a regular high school student, Xi would want nothing more then for her school to blow up, taking all the drama from life with it.
